Director of the Lancashire Health and Well-Being Centre. C.I.C.
I came to England in 2001 with my family and attended college to improve my English language.
In 2003 I started working with SEMA (Support Ethnic Minority Achievement) organisation as a bilingual assistant in primary and high schools in the local area and helped children for whom English was not their first language. In conjunction with this, I was employed as a special support assistant at Beardwood high school until 2006.
I then decided to continue and improve my education and started a PGCE course at UCLAN University. In 2007 I started working as a maths tutor at Blackburn college in the Essential Studies Department. Whilst in this teaching role I gained the Diploma in Lifelong Learning sector. Holding this Diploma and the PGCE allows me to teach and pass on my skills which I greatly enjoy.
In 2010 I started studying again in and enrolled for the degree in Complementary Medicine at Blackburn University and as we were required to have a work placement, I met Christine Hunter, the founder of Lancashire Health and Well-being Centre, who showed me the beauty of kindness, caring and love to others.
I gained my degree and have been working since 2012 as a qualified therapist providing
- Remedial and sports massage
- Clinical aromatherapy
- Clinical reflexology
- Remedial hot and cold stone therapy
- Dry and wet cupping
Our founder, Christine Hunter, retired in 2016 and I was asked to step up and take over as manager of the company. I gladly accepted and having gained new skills for this role, I feel able to take this wonderful company forward into the future.
It is an honour to have the opportunity of providing therapies and health and well-being services to a wide range of people and to make a difference to our community. I meet so many different people during my working week and it is a great pleasure to help them to a healthier and happier life.
I love spending time with my family also reading and watching films. Walking and swimming are my favourite sports.
