Admin Officer / Director

Director Lancashire Health and Well-Being Centre C.I.C

My early career in retail both as a sales assistant and store manager ended when I injured my back which caused me to look for less physically demanding work. In 2004 I started to work at Preston Crown Court initially as an Usher and after a promotion I moved onto civil work which involved issuing small claims, warrants, bankruptcy, family and divorce work. As a section manager I trained as a DSE assessor. In 2012 I moved to Blackburn Family and Civil Court but after a car accident I had to give up this post. I was advised to visit Christine Hunter, our founder for massage treatments and after responding to an advert for volunteer receptionists I became involved with LHWBC. My life positively changed and I felt that I had purpose in the community again. Over time my volunteer hours increased and I was delighted to be offered a post as admin. officer. The role continues to evolve and in 2018 I was invited to become a director in recognition of my contribution to the success of the company and the community that we serve.
